It is important to ensure there are no defects or discontinuities present that expose the substrate beneath after a protective coating has been applied. A non-destructive equipment for detecting discontinuities in a coating system, such as holidays, pinholes, and cracks, is a pinhole or holiday detector. Porosity detector, continuity tester, holiday tester, spark tester, and jeep metre are some of the other names for this device.
