The Brannan 10/336/0 reads olive oil density from 0.90 to 0.95 g/ml on a 270 mm M50-series stem with 0.001 g/ml divisions. Brannan notes this range is the one most suited to olive oil production; since one litre of pure olive oil weighs around 920 g, the reading reveals oil weight per litre and any significant water content. The hydrometer conforms to BS 718:1991, is adjusted at 20 °C and is supplied in a resealable plastic tube.
