Brannan 10/750/0 is a special purpose draft survey hydrometer that measures the apparent density of sea water in kg/litre, reading 0.99 to 1.04 kg/l. Surveyors use the reading in ship draft survey calculations to work out the weight of cargo loaded. The instrument is adjusted for use at 15 °C and supplied with a chart in a protective, resealable plastic tube.
