Brannan 23/401/2 is a stainless steel meat roasting thermometer with a 50 mm dial, red pointer and 100 mm probe. It is used to check a joint once it has been taken out of the oven; it is not designed to stay in the oven while cooking. Zones and black animal symbols on the dial show recommended temperatures for beef, lamb, pork and chicken, and the bimetal mechanism needs no batteries.
