The Model NISTCAL-EL1 Portable Digital Tachometer detects laser reflections using a photo sensor or uses a rotatable head to make contact with the object's shaft to measure rotational speed. Compared to LED aiming, the laser target provides a more accurate measurement and can record up to 20 inches away. The TAC-L model comes with a sizable backlit LCD for usage in dimly lit environments. The robust, lightweight ABS plastic housing of this tachometer is contoured to accommodate the user's hand pleasantly. This model comes with three contact rotating heads, a contact surface wheel, and a carrying box for protection.
