When attaching a contact point that is not the same size as the standard accessory, the measurement range might not be preserved. If the contact-point diameter is too big for the plunger hole in the base's bottom face, zero-setting won't be feasible. When attaching a flat contact point, like the flat/needle or carbide-tipped contact point, parallelism adjustment with the base's bottom face is necessary.
