The Palmer Wahl TC817 is a heavy duty Type K piercing probe with a 4.5 in stainless steel shank and an adjustable penetration depth limiter. The 0.1875 in shank tapers to a 0.1 in tip for semi-solids such as plastic melts, rubber, asphalt and frozen foods. It responds in 0.5 seconds in boiling water and is rated to 1000 °F.
