A digitally controlled variant of the EL302 with an isolated RS-232 port is called the EL302P. It provides a cheap alternative to a basic programmable PSU and will be adequate for many uses where GPIB's sophistication and complexity are not required. Remote control of voltage, current, and output enable, as well as readback of metering values and operational status, are all possible with a straightforward command set. Three rotary encoders are used for local control, allowing for quick and precise tuning of voltage and current when used on a bench.
