According to IEC 60942:2017, the SV 36 is a type-approved sound calibrator that satisfies class 1 standards. The calibrator is made to calibrate class 1 and class 2 sound level meters at 94 and 114 dB at a frequency of 1 kHz, respectively.
A built-in microprocessor and reference sensors, including a piezoresistive sensor that checks the precision of the generated pressure level, an air pressure sensor, and a temperature sensor, regulate the accuracy of the calibration signal. Users don't need to make any manual adjustments to the ambient temperature and static pressure levels since the feedback regulation control loop fully automates all adjustments of the calibration signal.
