The Crowcon L-TEK P100 detects methane at a distance using tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), reading 0-99999 ppm with 5 ppm sensitivity. Its standard detection distance is 20 m, extendable to 50 m, so leaks can be located without the gas having to diffuse to the instrument. It is used in petroleum, chemical processing and urban gas inspection.
