Part No. GSTA-N-D-FC
Product Overview
The Dwyer GSTA-N-D-FC is a Series GSTA nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) transmitter designed for monitoring gas concentrations in mechanical rooms, underground parking garages and loading docks. The nitrogen dioxide version is intended for monitoring diesel-engine exhaust and uses a duct-mount configuration for in-duct sampling.
The transmitter provides field-selectable analog outputs including 4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 0-10 V, 1-5 V and 2-10 V, allowing connection to a wide range of building management and ventilation controllers. Internal DIP switches allow the output to be inverted when required.
The GSTA-N-D-FC has a standard 0-10 ppm nitrogen dioxide range and uses an industrial-grade, field-replaceable sensor. Field calibration can be performed using the A-449 remote LCD service display, which also indicates when the sensor reaches the end of its service life and requires replacement.
The -FC suffix indicates that the transmitter is supplied with a factory calibration certificate. The GSTA-N-D provides the corresponding standard configuration without the factory calibration certificate.

How to Specify & Commission It
- Confirm that the application requires nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) monitoring and select a suitable duct location.
- Install the duct-mount transmitter according to the manufacturer's installation requirements.
- Select the required analog output: 4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 0-10 V, 1-5 V or 2-10 V.
- Configure the output direction using the internal DIP switches if an inverted signal is required.
- Wire the power supply and selected analog output to the building management, ventilation or control system.
- Use the A-449 remote LCD service display for field calibration when required, then verify the transmitter reading and controller response.
Frequently Asked Questions
What gas does the GSTA-N-D-FC detect?
The GSTA-N-D-FC detects nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), used for monitoring diesel-engine exhaust.
What is the standard measurement range?
The standard nitrogen dioxide measurement range is 0-10 ppm.
What outputs are available?
The transmitter provides field-selectable 4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 0-10 V, 1-5 V and 2-10 V outputs.
Can the output signal be inverted?
Yes. The output can be inverted using the internal DIP switches.
Does the GSTA-N-D-FC have an integral LCD display?
No. The GSTA-N-D-FC does not have an integral LCD display. The A-449 remote LCD service display is used for setup and field calibration.
Is the GSTA-N-D-FC wall mount or duct mount?
The GSTA-N-D-FC is a duct-mount nitrogen dioxide transmitter designed for in-duct sampling.
Can the sensor be replaced?
Yes. The transmitter uses an industrial-grade field-replaceable sensor.
How is the sensor calibrated?
Field calibration can be performed using the A-449 remote LCD service display. The service display can also indicate when the sensor requires replacement.
What does the -FC suffix mean?
The -FC suffix indicates that the transmitter is supplied with a factory calibration certificate. The electrical and mechanical configuration is otherwise the same as the standard GSTA-N-D model.
