By adding up to seven additional groups of up to eight modules each using the Emerson VersaMax Expansion Remote Modules, a VersaMax PLC or I/O station can be expanded to accommodate larger applications. VersaMax I/O modules are linked to host PLCs or computers via a variety of networks by a Remote I/O Unit. VersaMax I/O, Genius, PROFIBUS-DP, DeviceNet, and other Ethernet installations are now simple to integrate into the innovative PROFINET interface. The remote I/O unit and its modules come together to create an I/O station that can offer up to 256 points of I/O.
