Matherne Electronic Crown Protector System | I-Stop Traveling Block Controller
The Matherne Electronic Crown Protector I-Stop model is a Traveling Block Controller (TBC) that monitors and controls the ascending speed of the traveling block near the crown. This prevents overrunning the top stop and lets the upper travel limit sit closer to the crown, which matters on rigs where a portable top drive takes up the clearance originally designed into the derrick.

- Monitors block kinetic energy to keep block operation within upper and lower travel limits
- Floor protection: tracks block position while descending and sets the drawworks mechanical brake at the absolute lower limit
