The 516-198 is a step master with four fine height steps of 10, 5, 2, 1 µm. It is a steel gauge, supplied in a fitted wooden case with an inspection certificate. Five gauge blocks form the assembly; the step between neighbours is calibrated by interferometer to a resolution of 0.01 µm.
