Palmer Wahl 117 Series protection tubes (1170_Protection_Tubes) have a large 1 in diameter bore and a 1/2 in-14 NPS internal thread. The wide bore lets them house Palmer bimetals, probes of various sizes, specialty glass thermometers, thermocouples and RTDs; the manufacturer advises choosing the tube with the bore closest to the instrument being installed.
