Pie Gauge (W-PG)
The Pie Gauge is frequently used to check for the presence of a suitable magnetic field. It measures the direction of the magnetic field. The Pie Gauge is frequently referred to as an ASME Magnetic Field Indicator outside of North America. The design has been outlined in ASME, ASTM, and EN variants since the earliest editions of industry specifications. The Pie Gauge is fairly reliable, but because of its size (thickness), it is not very good at representing man-made flaws. Pie gauges are inferior to QQIs (CX type), and Castrol Strips can also be used to measure field direction.
