Dakota T-242-1001 pairs a 2.25 MHz frequency with a 1/4 in probe diameter in a high temperature dual element thickness transducer, finished with a Microdot connector on the top. It uses standard damping. Dakota rates it to a maximum of 343°C (650°F).
Typical materials at this frequency: cast iron, plastics such as polypropylene and polyethylene, and thin fibreglass. Two crystals separated by an acoustic barrier let one transmit and the other receive, for thickness readings from one side.
