Product Overview
The Dwyer CDTR-2E404 combines carbon dioxide and relative humidity measurement in a compact European wall-mount enclosure, reducing the number of separate sensors required for indoor environmental monitoring.
The transmitter measures CO₂ from 0 to 2000 PPM and relative humidity from 0 to 100% RH. Although the CDTR family can include temperature measurement, the CDTR-2E404 does not provide a temperature output.
A single-beam, dual-wavelength NDIR CO₂ sensor automatically corrects the CO₂ measurement for light-source aging, helping maintain measurement performance over the sensor's operating life. The transmitter also provides digital barometric pressure adjustment and field calibration.
Dwyer's Digital Intelligence Temperature Compensation Algorithm (DITCA™) compensates for errors associated with self-heating in wall-mounted combination devices.
Universal outputs provide flexibility when connecting the transmitter to building management systems. Both CO₂ and relative humidity can be configured for 4-20 mA, 0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC, allowing compatibility with a wide range of building controllers. Current outputs support loads up to 500 Ω, while voltage outputs require a minimum 500 Ω load.
The humidity and temperature sensors are replaceable, and a physical hardware lockout helps protect configuration settings. Because this model does not include an integral display, a service display tool is available for setup and calibration.
The CDTR-2E404 operates from 16-35 VDC or 19-28 VAC, with average power consumption of 2 W and peak consumption of 3.75 W. Its operating temperature range is 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C), with an enclosure rating of IP20.

How to Specify & Commission It
- Mount the European wall-mount transmitter according to the installation requirements.
- Connect the appropriate power supply and wire the required 4-20 mA, 0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC outputs to the controller.
- Configure the barometric pressure setting for the installation and perform field calibration if required.
- Verify the CO₂ and relative humidity readings at the connected controller.
- Confirm that the selected output configuration corresponds correctly with the building management system.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Dwyer CDTR-2E404 measure?
The CDTR-2E404 measures CO₂ from 0-2000 PPM and relative humidity from 0-100% RH. This particular model has no temperature output.
What outputs are available?
The transmitter provides universal 4-20 mA, 0-5 VDC and 0-10 VDC outputs for CO₂ and relative humidity.
How accurate is the CDTR-2E404?
CO₂ accuracy is ±40 PPM + 3% of reading, while relative humidity accuracy is ±2%.
Does the CDTR-2E404 provide temperature output?
No. The CDTR-2E404 has no temperature output. The CDTR family includes other configurations that provide temperature measurement, but this model is intended for CO₂ and RH measurement.
Does the CDTR-2E404 have an integral display?
No. There is no integral display. A service display tool is available for setup and calibration.
Does the transmitter require recalibration?
For buildings occupied 24 hours a day, Dwyer recommends verifying calibration every 6 to 12 months, depending on the application.
What type of CO₂ sensor does it use?
It uses a single-beam, dual-wavelength NDIR sensor with automatic correction for light-source aging.
What is DITCA™?
DITCA™, or Digital Intelligence Temperature Compensation Algorithm, compensates for measurement errors associated with self-heating in wall-mounted combination devices.
What power supply does the CDTR-2E404 require?
It operates from 16-35 VDC or 19-28 VAC. Average power consumption is 2 W, with a peak of 3.75 W.
