An excellent, reasonably priced hydraulic reservoir shut-off valve is the Model SAE-40 butterfly valve. The rigorous requirements of the fluid power industry are catered for in the design of these valves. One of the special characteristics is an O-ring flange face seal that satisfies the dimensions specifications of S.A.E. J518. This design allows for a maximum temperature of 180°F (82.2°C) and bubble-tight reservoir shut-off up to 25 psi (1.72 bar). There is less need for room because of the compact envelope dimension. An open/close detent position lock that may be infinitely positioned to reach a desired flow rate is one feature that makes the unit adjustable. The special construction dampens vibrations that come with hydraulic pumps and pumping systems. There are optional locking handles and fluoroelastomer seals available.
