For socket-welded ball valves, the Series WE05 provides the greatest design available. The seat configuration and swing-out body feature make welding installation simple. A 3-piece SS ball valve with a full port is incorporated into the Series WE05 to provide optimal flow rates with little pressure drop. The valve has a 316 SS (ASTM CF8M) ball for improved performance, strengthened PTFE seats and seals for extended life, and a blowout proof stem for increased safety. Direct mounting of the actuators results in a small assembly suitable for confined places. Position indication can be done remotely by mounting limit switches directly to the valves. There are two actuator configurations available for the Series WE05: electric and pneumatic. Electric actuators come with two-position modulating control, many supply voltage options, and are waterproof or explosion-proof. While modulating actuators use a 4 to 20 mA input for valve location, two-position actuators employ the supply voltage to push the valve open or closed. Actuators have a permanently oiled gear train and protection against thermal stress. An air supply is used by the pneumatic double acting actuator to drive the valve open and closed. Two supply ports on the actuator are used to drive the valve open and closed, respectively. With spring return pneumatic actuators, the valve is opened by the air supply and closed by internally loaded springs. The SV3 solenoid valve, which opens and closes the valve by electrically switching the air supply pressure between the air supply ports, is another option. Actuators are made of metal that has been anodized and epoxy coated to prevent corrosion over many years of use.
