Field Terminals are used by Emerson PAC8000 I/O Modules to connect to the field wiring of safety systems. Field Terminals and IO Modules are mounted on carriers that not only offer mechanical support but also link the Modules' internal communication bus and power supply connections.
The Emerson PAC8000 I/O Modules have SIL 2 certification for use in safety-related applications. The SafetyNet System uses a 1oo1D architecture to receive this certification. The SafetyNet IO Modules were created with safety-related applications in mind and have earned certification for their superior design. Data that has been "proven in use" is not required for certification.
