The use of any 2/1 modules in a node necessitates the Emerson PAC8000 Railbus Isolator. The device offers galvanic isolation between modules with conventional wiring on the 2/2 side of the isolator and those interfacing to Intrinsic Safe field wiring on the 2/1 side. The device attaches to its specific Railbus Isolator Carrier 8725-CA-RB.
Because System Power cannot be transferred from one side of the Railbus Isolator to the other, IS System Power Supplies must provide System Power on the 2/1 side.
