The ETI 133-350 is a type K food simulant probe with a 1 metre lead, made for monitoring cold food storage. Air temperature in a fridge changes quickly whenever the door opens, but food warms much more slowly; this probe is deliberately slow to respond so its readings track the food rather than the air. That helps staff judge whether stock has genuinely warmed after a door was left open or a unit failed, and avoid throwing food away unnecessarily.
