Matherne Bulk Tank / Surge Can Indicator System | 2:1 or 3:1 Load Distribution
This Matherne indicator system weighs drill mud, chemicals and cement held in bulk tanks with a 2:1 or 3:1 load distribution. Onshore installations typically use hydraulic, self-aligning compression load cells, while offshore rigs with tanks below deck usually take a tension cylinder or tension load cell. Each system pairs a 6, 8-1/2, 12, 16 or 18 in indicator with a standard 25 ft hose and the chosen load sensor, and works without a power source.
