Brannan's 10/931/0 reads specific gravity between 1.35 and 1.40 on the 60/60 °F scale and is part of the general purpose M50 series. With a band of 1.35 to 1.40, it is used for liquids denser than water, giving relative density against water. At 270 mm overall, the 10/931/0 carries 0.001 SG graduations across its 1.35–1.40 span and is adjusted at 60 °F (15.6 °C). Like the other M50 instruments, the 10/931/0 is similar to hydrometers in ISO 650 and in the now superseded 1960 issue of BS 718.
